UK Mortgage Advisers & Brokers for Expats in France

UK mortgages for expats living in France

Living in Paris, the south of France or anywhere else in France and looking at UK property? We are specialist UK mortgage advisers and brokers helping France-based expats buy, remortgage and refinance in the UK.

  • Income in euros (EUR) considered
  • Purchases, remortgages and buy-to-let
  • Handled remotely in your time zone

Why expats in France use a specialist broker

Many UK high street lenders decline applicants living overseas or offer them only limited products. We search the wider market, including specialist and private banks, to find lenders that accept residents of France.

Euro income accepted

Many UK lenders accept income in euros, sometimes applying a small adjustment for currency movements.

Employed, self-employed or retired

From salaried roles in Paris to self-employment or retirement in the regions, we find lenders that accept your type of income.

UK property while you are away

Keep your UK home and let it out, buy an investment property or refinance an existing mortgage, all arranged remotely.

What we can help with

Buying a UK home or investment property, remortgaging to a better rate, releasing equity, switching a former home to buy-to-let, or buying through a UK limited company. All arranged remotely while you live in France.

UK mortgage questions from expats in France

Answers to the questions we are asked most often.

Can I get a UK mortgage if I live in France?

Yes. A number of UK lenders accept applicants living in France and elsewhere in Europe. Criteria vary on income type, age and deposit.

Will lenders accept my income in euros?

Many specialist lenders accept EUR income. Some apply a small reduction to allow for exchange rate movements.

Can I switch my UK home to buy-to-let now I live in France?

Yes. If you are letting your former home, you will usually need a buy-to-let mortgage or your lender's consent to let. We can arrange either.

How much deposit will I need?

For expats and foreign nationals, lenders usually require a deposit of between 25% and 30% of the purchase price, depending on the lender, your residency, income and the type of property.
