UK Mortgage Advisers & Brokers for Expats in India

UK mortgages for expats living in India

Based in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi or elsewhere in India and considering UK property? We are specialist UK mortgage advisers and brokers helping India residents buy, remortgage and refinance in the UK.

  • Income in rupees (INR) considered
  • Purchases, remortgages and buy-to-let
  • Handled remotely in your time zone

Why expats in India use a specialist broker

Many UK high street lenders decline applicants living overseas or offer them only limited products. We search the wider market, including specialist and private banks, to find lenders that accept residents of India.

Rupee income accepted by selected lenders

A smaller number of UK lenders accept income paid in rupees, so knowing which lenders will consider India residents saves time and declined applications.

Plan your deposit under Indian remittance rules

India's Liberalised Remittance Scheme sets limits on how much resident individuals can send overseas each year, so plan your deposit early and take local advice.

Professionals and business owners

Many of our India-based clients are senior professionals, technology leaders and business owners. We understand salaried, bonus and business income.

UK mortgage questions from expats in India

Answers to the questions we are asked most often.

Can I get a UK mortgage if I live in India?

Yes, although the choice of lenders is narrower than for some other countries. A specialist broker helps you go straight to lenders that accept India residents.

Will UK lenders accept my income in rupees?

Some specialist lenders accept INR income, usually with an allowance for exchange rate movements. Income in sterling or US dollars can widen your options.

Can I buy a UK buy-to-let from India?

Yes. Many India residents buy UK property as an investment, in their own name or through a UK limited company.

How much deposit will I need?

For expats and foreign nationals, lenders usually require a deposit of between 25% and 30% of the purchase price, depending on the lender, your residency, income and the type of property.
